Lantana

We awoke to another beautiful sunrise and the boat in the exact position we left her in when we went to bed.  Go figure.

After washing off the anchor and chain (a first) we left early again,  Our two Canadian neighbors joined us for the sail north in their monohulls.  The only other traffic on the ICW were manatees, pelicans and egrets.  I still giggle when I hear the bridge masters call Paul "Captain".  It's only our third day on the boat!

After five bridges we arrived in Lantana and found anchorage near the town dock.  Field trip!  As soon as we set the anchor and were assured the boat would not float away while we went to town, we unhooked the dinghy (another first) and left.

After securing the dinghy to the town dock (a first) we walked through the town.  Post office (had to send Brianna her postcard!), food mart and Walgreens were all within five blocks and we found everything we needed.  I do not miss the traffic!

The pelicans are numerous and have little regard for us.  They hang out on the docks and the boats on the docks.  I had to wash my shoes after getting back in the dinghy since bird poo was unavoidable!

Another gorgeous sunset and another successful day on the water.
