West Palm Beach - Day 5
Yup we scraped the bottom briefly last night at low tide. (No damage) The depth was 2.8 and we were not moving. Thankfully the wind was strong and blew us off and we hurriedly moved the boat to deeper water. While the low tide was predicted to be even more shallow today and tonight we repositioned the boat again this morning.
The skies were mostly clear all day but the wind sustained at 28knts with gusts to 35knts. The humming and howling as it goes through and around the boat is definitely different then I ever heard. We have been swinging and rocking all day. A little nerve wracking as we swing close to other boats and hope they swing in the same direction away from us. But the anchor held! (We have mastered that!) And a good thing too since the alarm was accidently turned off and we are unable to reset during this weather.
The prediction is for the wind to slow at midnight. And the lowest tide yet is shortly after 1am. Good thing we both napped today. It may be a long night.
