Eau Gallie Causeway

We slept very well.  It was very quiet, little rocking and and a breeze.  A calm, quiet morning with the promise of a hot, hazy, humid day.

The ICW channel itself is very narrow at about 50 feet.  It is deceptively wide but has so many areas of shoaling and mini islands and derelict boats, that to stray from the marked channel could spell trouble.  There are areas where the water is calm with dolphins and pelicans enjoying the fish to areas where there are so many boats and people we think we are playing "chicken" on the water!

With plans to meet friends for dinner we planned our anchorage in Melbourne.  Just north of the Eau Gallie Causeway, we anchored near the Squid Lips restaurant.  A pod of dolphins were there to welcome us and some hung around for awhile.  This anchorage is where it all began 3 years ago.  With Captain Billy we sailed here and anchored in the same spot.

It is busy with boat traffic, loud with bridge traffic and music from the restaurant.  A very different spot from last night!  There is a beautiful breeze and few "neighbors" so we should sleep well.
