Hobe Sound

A beautiful sunrise with no wind!  We were on our way by 7am.  Sure there were dark clouds to the west but we were going to try to outrun them.

Our first obstacle was Blue Heron Bridge.  We are 60 feet high and the bridge 65(?)  Slow, while holding our breath.  Nearby boaters cheering us on.  It felt way too early in the morning for that kind of adrenaline.

After that it was all easy going.  The rain and clouds stayed behind us for the most part, getting wet only briefly.

Jupiter Bridge is under construction. (Silly me I had Paul ask for a bridge opening before we rounded the bend and saw no bridge!) Everyone on the radio kindly reminded us of our faux pas.  Jupiter lighthouse is near the super busy inlet out to the ocean.  There were many shallows from shoaling but with advice from other boaters and our radar we managed to stay in deep waters.

We found a perfect anchorage in Hobe Sound across from Jupiter Island.  I enjoyed a quick swim, catnap on the trampoline, lunch, quiet time on the cockpit bench and card games.

Paul ran the water maker with no additional leaks found on the starboard side.  We will continue to let everything dry out and start repairs once we get to Daytona.

The sunset was stunning!  We are hoping the few boats that have been going by causing us to rock diminishes now that it is dark.  Perfect day!
