Merritt Island
It was a very laid back day after a long night. The wind became very strong and changed direction from the north. A bad combination that included large waves. We awoke to find we had tangled anchors with a neighboring monohull. After attempts to free our anchor from their lines were unsuccessful, we tied off their stern and waited for sunrise and another pair of hands. It was a quick fix once we could see the problem and we were relocated within a few minutes. With the anchor reset and the alarm turned on, we spent a lazy morning.
What we learned - we are really good at getting the dinghy down and back up. Our life jackets are now adjusted to fit over our jackets. We check out ANY abnormal sounds. The anchor alarm is set every time. Someone is watching out for us. Our second anchor is on deck and ready to go if needed. There are really kind people.
