Back At It

We made it back to the boat by 230am.  Of course our flight was delayed but it was uneventful.  Everything was in perfect order with Quiet Time.  After a slow start (and another trip to Walmart) we made some progress on our TO DO list.  The dinghy motor now has a fin so hopefully less effort to drive on plane. (And I will stay drier). The steering that caused an issue last time we were out was actually a clamp placed incorrectly causing the difficulty.  All fixed no thanks to the team at Cracker Boy!  Meanwhile I used my new seam ripper and took the damaged isinglass out of the frames.  I can use a sewing machine and I cannot spend $12,000 on new isinglass so the decision was made to attempt the job ourselves.  It so happens that Don inherited a 1963 Singer sewing machine with the house and it WORKS!  Now we wait for the materials to arrive and even if not perfect I can do this.

While dinner was warming in the oven we walked to the nearby Bethune Point Park.  A boat dock, skate park and several baseball diamonds filled with kids.  It was fun to watch their enthusiasm.  Nice to breathe salt air and feel the wind,  And of course nice to walk after being cramped traveling yesterday.

It feels good to watch the sun set from the boat.  It will feel good to be gently rocked to sleep.  (Last night doesn't count since we passed out so quickly around 3 am!)
