Good friends, Good food

I popped out of bed this morning with lots of energy.  Since it was close to sunrise I thought a walk to the nearest bridge would be a good place to watch the sun start the day.  Paul called shenanigans but quickly dressed and we made the 3 miles easily.  Too bad the buildings blocked our ocean view.  Who knew orange came in so many hues.

The remainder of the day was spent with good friends and good food.  First the farmer's market in Port Orange.  Thank you Lorelei for getting us there! So many yummy samples!  Loaded up with hummus, bread, cheeses and tomatoes!  The booths were in such a pretty location.

An early lunch at Caribbean Jack's (spinach & artichoke dip, shrimp tacos) with live music and warm sun.  A stop at an art festival and slow walk around Manatee Island.

The highlight of the day - while sitting in the cockpit enjoying bruschetta with friends the manatees appeared!  A large herd decided that Daytona Marina was THE place to mate.  The water here is very brackish but still really cool to watch them surface frequently and thrash around.  They are usually so mellow and slow moving.

We finished the day at Norwood's Treehouse Restaurant where 3 hours passed in a minute and Paul enjoyed his poutine!  Richard kept us entertained with work stories, building stories and of course his make the baby smile silly faces!

On a boat note, the water leak is fixed and every single drain or possible leak potential site has been checked and double checked.  We are dry and the stairs are back together.  And my ice maker has arrived.  No more ice trays balanced precariously in the freezer.  Yea!
