Jacksonville
After leaving early this morning (and I mean early as in sunrise!), we started down the St John's River towards Jacksonville. We had calm waters for quite awhile.
St John's had some commercial traffic but was really deep and wide.
It had some homes and a few spots of "wilderness" but very little. We did see some dolphins and this pelican who photo bombed my shot!
Three bridges close together and we were in downtown Jacksonville and around the corner from the new marina.
We now have a Hilton to our port, the St John's River in front of us, the USS Orleck Naval museum to our starboard and the sherriff''s office (and detention center ) to our stern.
We ate BBQ at Mojo Number 4 in one of the cuter neighborhoods of Jacksonville. Good food, good service and the walk afterwards proved to be entertaining!
Nutcrackers are my least favorite - I find them too creepy!
Ironically this was one of Scott's favorite! (above)
Crazy stuff that goes out to the public for purchase! A beautiful night that ended with cards and because we have power - air conditioning!
And because I am a mom, I want to congratulate Kevin, Scott and Rebecca who all graduated this year! So proud of all of you and what you have accomplished! πππ
