Sail plan

Today was about wrapping it up and saying our goodbyes to Jacksonville.  Tomorrow morning we leave early with the tide to head north.  Next major destination - Savannah, Georgia.  We dropped the rental car off after doing quick errands and made it back to the boat before the thunderstorm.  The laundry is done, boat is clean and the water tank is full.

Making a sail plan requires researching anchorages along the ICW, available free docks, and moorings where we could potentially spend a night or more.  Tides are important since spots in the ICW have a depth as low as 4 feet during low tide.  Timing our departure from one anchorage to the next we need to take into account the weather, the wind speed and direction and the tides.  We also have to have alternate anchorages in case there is no room for another boat.  Our sail plan is set with multiple backup plans and I am looking forward to new scenery.  Also hoping the weather is a little cooler.

I thought I would post some pictures from Jacksonville that did not make the original posts.

These were from our first travel down the St John's River to the marina.

Silly window displays.

Downtown Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach.
They are eating grapes.  Who knew?

Pete's sweets.  Who as it turns out used to own a family store with his sister, Peterbrooke chocolate, until a disagreement.

I cannot even imagine trying these!

A must for every couple who bowls together.
