Lessons Learned

As we complete our season, I thought I would reflect on the things we have learned.  Some big, some small and some really obvious.

Always let enough rode (anchor chain) and set the anchor alarm

Always check the forecast in the morning and every few hours (surprise storms are the worst!)

Set a goal in the morning

Take the afternoon for relaxing and fun

That wind has many, many different sounds

That I love the sound of water lapping onto the sugar scoops

Never take oneself too seriously – the universe will remind you that life is to be enjoyed

Patience – everything comes in its own time, kind of like the tide

That music makes the mundane chores easier

That together anything is possible

That being uncomfortable outside your box has huge rewards

That you can make a plan but backup plans are necessary

Explore every anchorage/town/beach because you may never be back

Take many pictures but enjoy the moments.

Pay it forward

Dance when you can even if it is raining or people are watching (some will join you!)

Take the time to stay in touch with friends and family

Take the time to meet new people

It never hurts to ask

I will miss the wildlife.  Here are my favorite flying pictures:
