Tybee Island

A perfect beach day.  High 80s with a good breeze and intermittent clouds.  Perfect!  We left early and found a parking spot right next to the access.  We set our chairs under the pier for shade.

With the water temp at 82 degrees, Maddy and I spent a great deal of time floating in the waves.  There were few people and even fewer in the water.

The main road off the parking lot was calling us.  Cute stores with enticing window displays, we walked through several.

Volkswagen buses make me feel young again.  I learned how to drive on a blue one with a standard shift on a hill.  (In a snowstorm of course!)

I'm the oldest please don't touch me

The sales lady did not know how old the store was but seemed to think it had been there since the town started and tourists started coming to the beach.  Whatever that means.  A long time.  When nickles bought you a pony ride.

Ignore the corpse.

What's up with VW bus?  It's a thing.

A beautiful island.  I would definitely return.
Quiet time naps, games, dinner and more games.  We watched a huge yacht enter the marina.  When questioned why there were four small power boats situated on the top deck, the response I got from the crew was, "We are the support yacht.  We have all the toys for the yacht."   Are you kidding?  Nope.  The 100+ foot yacht was full of toys for the "real" yacht.

A gorgeous sunset tonight.
