Wilmington Island
This morning we took the dinghy to Hogan's Marina on Wilmington Island and walked to the area stores. Friendship Coffee Company was where we started for breakfast. So strange because we sat on a stage and were served. It's not that anyone paid attention to us but being the focal point was a little distracting. Coffee was very good and as was Paul's sandwich.
After that we were able to hit Goodwill for DVDs and books. (Very limited choice!) Then to ACE! What an amazing store. So huge and clean and well laid out. They had all the usual hardware stuff and Columbia and souvenirs and very, very friendly staff! We found everything we needed - fly tape, fly swatter, fridge gasket and coat hooks.
We then raided Publix for fresh fruits and veggies! A perfect stop!
We "bumped" into Captain Rob on the ride back to the boat and confirmed where and when for dinner. I baked an apple pie since I had put one together before my apples could go bad. A little warm today to bake but in the scheme of things - hot is hot. We were sweating anyway.
We made lots of new friends and everyone was super welcoming. We picked brains for the best of Savannah and the surrounding islands to enjoy. The ride back was stunning (just had to keep mouths closed due to the plethora of bugs!)
What a beautiful area. We are looking forward to more exploring!
