Morning Walk
Today was the first day I really felt retired. Although we officially stopped working in late October, we were busy with the holidays and preparing to purchase and outfit the boat. Then when Lucille passed unexpectedly, there was another new reality. We then moved from Cumberland to Lincoln so we had plenty to keep us busy and be grateful we were also not juggling a work schedule.
While on the boat we developed a routine to balance work and pleasure. We now need to figure out a new routine while home so we do not get bogged down in the to do list.
When we left the boat to come home, I vowed to walk as often and as frequently as opportunity presented. I used to take walking for granted. Being on the boat and only able to do "laps" I truly missed walking just to walk. And while we did walk to get groceries or go to the hardware store, carrying our purchases back decreased the enjoyment of walking. Also the heat and humidity towards the end of our time prevented us from long walks.
So this morning I walked purely for the enjoyment. And although it was overcast and drizzled intermittently, it was awesome! A lot of pretty everywhere!
