Newport, RI
A beautiful day spent with family outdoors. The Great Elephant Migration was so worth the ride to Newport, the heat and the many people. I thought the elephants were made of wood but as it turns out it is made from a weed, lantana camara. Impressive!
The elephants have all been given names. My favorite - Raghu. All were different from each other. Some had tusks, different colors, some seemed like they were trumpeting, some had babies and some had curled trunks. Details in the eyes, toenails, ears - amazing.
The cliff walk had beautiful views and a cooling breeze. A very unique area that I would love to revisit when the weather is cooler and the crowds thinner!
A picnic lunch at Morgan park that allowed the girls to run around. Thank you for the sandwich TJ!
I am sooo glad I was able to retrieve my camera from the lost and found at National Car Rental! Although I still think the should have notified me they found a valuable item in the car, I am glad someone turned it in.The day ended with an impromptu dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Bandidos, with two of my favorite people, Kevin and Isis. I am so grateful for the time I enjoy with loved ones. 💓
