Wallum Lake - Douglas, Ma & Burrillville, RI
A quick walk this morning in the much cooler air after the short but fierce storm before sunrise and you could still see the drops of water on the petals.
Then we took much longer walk this afternoon at Wallum Lake in Douglas. A frequent destination when the kids were younger we enjoyed many hours in the water. Big enough to water ski and tube and close enough to head there just for a picnic supper and quick swim. 2019

Tonight the beach was nearly vacant and the weather was perfect for walking (except for the mosquitos!).
A path to the left of the boat ramp led to an additional picnic area. We have never wandered that way before and were pleasantly surprised at the area.
Riding back via route 100, we ventured to Zambarano Hospital grounds. The hospital was built in 1902 for patients needing rest and fresh air to recuperate from TB. They had fishing cruises, gardens, movies and beautiful grounds to walk. What a concept!
Although the original buildings are rundown and ignored, the main buildings built in 1917 are well kept and the grounds were well manicured. It still functions as a acute care, long term facility.
The cooler weather was so welcome! Of course it won't last long but we walked a total of 5 miles and enjoyed every step!
