Work hard, Play hard

While cutting the grass at Megan's today I couldn't help but remember the help we received when Paul and I moved into our new home back in 1996.  The house had been foreclosed and needed an incredible amount of TLC.  Mom and Ma (grandmother) jumped in and washed windows and walls while Paul's dad helped with the defunct heating system.  We came home from Maine one weekend to find Louis had painted the house!  The to do list was always never ending and we were so appreciative of any help.

I also couldn't help but think of cousin Edgar.  Memere Adam's nephew lived in Eustis, just north of our home in Rangeley, Maine.  The running joke in the town was "no blade of grass is safe from Edgar".  I was able to take my time today and do a complete job of cutting the lawn instead of my previous hurry and get it down, cut corners job.  I get it now.  It is no longer a chore but an enjoyable way to spend time outside.  And I did enjoy it.  A beautiful day with cool breezes.

Almost 2 miles and 2 hours and it was done!  Meanwhile Paul installed a hitch on Megan's car.  Knowing her and TJ work so hard, we are glad to take care of some of the mundane so they can focus on the more enjoyable.   I hope they have as many happy and fun times as we did!
