Kitchen Table
When we built our house in Rangeley in 1991 we were broke. We had just gotten married and starting our careers. Paul and Alan built our bunk beds in the kids rooms and Alan built our end table and coffee table (still in use today). Paul built our kitchen table.
Unseen in the photo is the one leg that was installed upside down. Marc is the only one ever to recognize and mention that fact! When I purchased a new table with leaves to expand and have everyone more comfortable, the kids vetoed it! Who knew. Nick, I hope you are enjoying the table! Seriously though, I do love our table! The kitchen table is the center of our home. With only one movie at quiet time and one movie before bed, the table was where we hang out and play games.

We arrived late one night recently (in last few years) and when I started putting bags on the table, it fell apart. What? The table was broken and precariously repositioned to look "normal". Paul and I fixed the table - replaced broken board, resanded, painted and put it back together. Never a word from anyone about how and when it was broken. I guess what happens in Maine, stays in Maine!
