Today I was lucky enough to see Cirque du Soleil in Providence.  An amazing show based on insects, their evolution and movements.  My favorite - the crickets.  Costumes that took 75 hours apiece to assemble and mimicked the crickets movements perfectly.

The show had so many acts that surprised and awed.  Beautiful costumes that enhanced their movements.  Crazy pole acrobatics, trapeze swinging and jumps, trampoline acts that seem impossible with walking up the rock wall and a rock wall that defied gravity for the performers.  Spinning in the air by her hair - how is that done?  Music that was full of heart, a violinist and accordian that mesmerized and a soloist that inspired.  There was comedy in the language used by the insects and the "bathroom" humor by the principal character.  There was a love story between two unlikely insects.  Insane flexibility and perfect timing that made everything seem effortless.

I highly recommend!
