Purging
Today was fun. I was looking forward to hitting the yard sales with Karen. It seems like forever since we have been able to check out other people's purging. We grew up having yard sales and going to them along with flea markets and bazaars. We used them as were fundraisers for the Girl Scouts. We used them to pass on kid clothes that seemed hardly worn along with books and toys. Meeting people and observing their purchases is always entertaining. It also inspires me to continue purging!
But the weather must have intimidated people. There were few yard sales. So next stop - consignment. Just as fun. I find it utterly amazing what items people have kept and what is being sold.
A camel stool. Where else would you rest your feet? This dental chest with multiple doors still filled with all the tools of the trade! Medicine, syringes, and even molds! If interested you can find it on Post Road in Warwick.
And finish your home decor with a very large glass black chicken.
And my bonus for the day was reconnecting with friends I hadn't seen in years. Laura whom I met when her daughter joined our Girl Scout troop, was an inspiration. With four kids similar in age to ours, she was always calm, never flustered, soft spoken and confident. Being an elementary teacher she was a model for patience and tolerance. It was nice to hear the kids are doing well.
