Saddleback Lake, Rangeley, Maine

This morning was sunny and warm and perfect for a walk to the lake.  Saddleback Lake is less than two miles from the house and a frequent, favorite walk.  The walk is pleasant with a lot to see and today we watched the road be graded.  A dirt road, it tends to deep potholes after the wet season.

These are my favorite!  Other-worldly!  Reminds me of Dr. Seuss!

This guy is obviously from somewhere else.  No one puts signs like this up.  Maybe no trespassing, no hunting.  But cameras?  Nope.  In the 30 + years we have never had a problem (knock on wood).  We have forgotten to lock doors, have left the front door open and even once left the key in the locked door.    Or maybe people have been in the house and when they found out all the appliances were 30 years old they left empty handed!

We did dog sled the frozen lake once.  Memorable since our sled dogs decided to chase a squirrel to a tree off the beaten path.

Ice out in the spring always seems amazing.

Here you can definitely see the slopes of Saddleback Mountain.

The summer mist and clouds also reflect beautifully in the water.

It was an awesome way to end our weekend before heading back to RI!
