All Good

National Be Late for Something Day.  Not me.  I find it difficult to be late.  Even when I know the doctor cannot possibly be running on time, I am on time for my appointments.  I could never be late for work because I knew the nurse I was replacing was probably more than ready to leave!

Eye doctor this morning - right on time (despite being behind an accident on Mendon Road),   I would rather go to the dentist or GYN then have them be near my eyes.  And those drops that dilate!  I get it but why can't they come up with something more humane.  Even with sunglasses I probably should not have driven home.  And then I painted.  Hopefully I covered all the areas.  I truly couldn't see well for a couple hours.  Ugh.  Good for another year.

I was also early for my yearly skin check.  And they took me in early and I was done early.  So it reinforces my belief that being late does not pay off, but being early might!  (Good for another year).

My present project is painting the pool fence in Cumberland.  A tedious time consuming task that takes many hours, I figured I would tackle it during these cooler days.  I find painting relaxing and very gratifying.

The original fence was installed in 2001.  It was okay until a storm in 2015 blew the entire front section down and broke several posts.  (The wind also spun our round glass table into the yard across the street without damage!) When we reinstalled we put in fencing without privacy panels in the front.  Now the wind can blow through.  Life lesson.

The other life lesson - oil based clear stain.   Water based paint does not last but starts to peel.  As does color stain.  This is the second fence installed (Paul and I cut and stained everything ourselves in 2015) and hopefully it will last for Megan.  It still looks good with clear coats of oil every 2-3 years.

The front section took 4 hours.

The side only took 3 hours but I had to dodge the bees in the flowers!

I hope to complete the other two sides before we leave for Maine on Monday.  Weather looks good so fingers crossed!
