Devil in the Details

The finishing details are killing me!  The bath floor is done (except the transition piece that we left in RI), last of the trim and caulk has been installed, pictures hung and clock hung.  Towel bars have had last (fingers crossed) coat of paint finished with hopefully install tomorrow.  The braided rug that I washed has finally dried and waiting for a final floor wash.

In the meantime, we have started winter prep.  The deck furniture is away.  Kayaks are back in storage.  The lawn received a final cut.  Lawn mower is drained of gas.

It was a gorgeous fall day.  My towels dried nicely on the line and smell awesome!

And I have come to the realization that there is no way I will complete all my pictures.  Trying to get them all onto my laptop and organized has become a major project.  Today’s favorites do not have dates attached, but I am guessing prior to 1985.  These were taken at Bob’s (coworker of my dad’s) cabin  on Mooselookmeguntic Lake in Oquossoc, Maine.  So many days spent soaking up the sun and Maine air here as a kid.

Stairs to the loft bedroom.  This was the scene of my worst nightmare where I awoke "blind".  With no street lights and no moon I only saw black when I opened my eyes.  So perfectly normal for me to think I was blind!  Check out the railings.  I never noticed them when we stayed there though.

Everything dated but functioned just fine.  Again I never noticed the cast iron pan.  I love my cast iron pans!  The bathroom just to the left of the fridge was sketchy.  Stand up shower stall with frequent spider webs.  I always moved fast and when able shaved my legs on the beach.

The downstairs bedroom.  I don't think I ever slept on the beds but even the loft beds had no box springs.

The kitchen table where we played board and cards games for hours on end during rainy days and nights.  There is no photo of the "antique" radio that played music or the telephone that was a party line and our line was 4 rings (as I remember).

The main bedroom with just enough room to stand and dress.

Because of this cabin on the lake, Paul and I grew to love the area and therefore was a top contender when we were searching for land.
