Happy Birthday Lisa!
Happy Birthday Lisa! I miss you!
The first time you called me about the boys, when they were
in the first grade (2003), we had an instant connection. We talked for more than an
hour and your kindness, generosity and laughter were evident from that
contact.
Both you and Moore had us laughing and loving the time we
spent with you. The first Cub Scout
meeting we had in your dining room is still fresh in my memory. I had volunteered to teach basic first aid to
the young boys. When I asked for a “victim”
to play injured ALL the boys threw themselves on the floor! How we laughed!
All the afternoons we spent dreaming up elaborate dinners
and then shopping and cooking them!
Mexican nights were always my favorites! You always made the best Margaritas! Many of your recipes I still use and have
passed on to other. Corn bread being the
most popular!
So many afternoons sitting by the pool, either playing cards
or just chilling, were precious. You
taught me so much about living in the moment.
To persevere. To ignore
discomfort and embrace the moment. I
miss your stories. White House dinners, game shows and cruise
ships. Being an electrician during
Providence Place Mall erection and meeting Moore.
All the shopping trips. From Walmart to The Paper Store, we always had a good time.
Having boys the same age provided us both with comic relief
and a necessary sounding board. All the
trials and tribulations that we were able to share. To know that our struggles were similar and
that everything is temporary. The boys
have all grown to be incredible young men.
And of course, New Year’s Eve! The perfect time for you to have a party! (Although any excuse was perfect!) No matter how large the crowd, we were a family. Because of you, Lisa, everyone felt loved and welcomed and special. The more, the merrier! I am blessed to have called you a friend!
New Years Eve 2019/2020
