Sand Hill Cove
Today is National Rhode Island Day. One of my favorite spots in RI? The beach of course. More specifically, Sand Hill Cove (Captain Wheeler Beach for the older generation!). More popular with families, a breakwater to lessen the waves and of course, the proximity to Mom's! We didn't have to pay for parking, we had only a short walk to the end of the beach (less populated) and a clean bathroom and outside shower. We spent many days trying to tire the kids while maintaining some sanity. It seemed to work most of the time! Many, many happy memories!

Meanwhile, here in Maine, we had ups and downs. Ups - 2 more windows are scraped and painted (only 2 to go), the new bath light fixture is installed (love it), 3 loads of laundry dried despite the third being hung out at 245pm and BBQ ribs were delicious! Downs - I dropped a donate bag breaking glass, Paul opened an Amazon package and out jumped a spider and while drilling for the new electrical wire in the bath, a drill bit fell forever in the wall. Ups - a brilliant gorgeous breezy fall day, the dump was nearly empty and I found a couple new books at the bargain barn. The first book I picked up was instantly engaging about Uganda and the plight of its women. So the day was a hit!
