The Reveal
I am calling today super successful! Pouring rain followed by sun, followed by pouring rain and finally more sun. New England weather at its best! (Thinking of our friends and family in Florida - stay safe!)
The reveal:
The closet doors slide perfectly on the track. I had extra knobs from a bureau repair that worked as door handles. And Paul added two pegs to the outside door for hanging towels, etc.So much storage space. There is still room to add more stuff if needed. Please, no more stuff! Two more additional towel bars (homemade by Paul and painted by me). The kids' paintings are hung with pride.
The shower stall finally is trimmed. Paul is building me a shelf for inside the shower since apparently nobody uses the same shampoo, conditioner or soap and the bottles multiply every time I leave!
The new mirror (picked out by me) and lights (thank you Don, your mistake looks good on our wall) and faucet (paul picked out).
And the last new towel bar behind the door. Now there is no need to use ski poles to dry towels! Very excited to be done! (Okay few minor things but 99% done is done!)
Same bathroom 1991:
Jacuzzi is drained and cleaned. Scott's sled is fixed and put away in shed. (Paul filled the house with smoke and set off the smoke alarm that was in tupperware under a bench!?!). Last trip to the dump. Firewood ring is filled.
And to add to our successful day - we found a lawyer! Last year before we set sail, Paul and I set up a trust for our assets. The only problem was the house here in Rangeley. To change the title we needed a Maine lawyer. So we put it off until this season. And then the paperwork was misplaced. We looked in Cumberland. Lincoln, here in Maine and nothing! But while cleaning part of the basement yesterday I found it! It was wedged between paper bags. Because if you are important enough, that's where you should hide. Then the search began for a lawyer who could make time for us on short notice. We found a very nice one in town and will be complete in just a few weeks. Success!
Tonight is trivia night and hopefully our success rate continues! Tomorrow morning we head for Rhode Island for the weekend.
