Manatee Awareness Month

In honor of Manatee Awareness month I thought I would share my manatee experience.  When I was ready for a vacation in early 2018, Paul found Crystal River.  Florida in March is apparently iffy.  This particular year was chilly - in the 40s.  But it was great for swimming with the manatees.  They congregate in the warmer waters near shore.  In Crystal River there are natural warm springs and this is where we swam with the manatees.  To stay warm the guides suggest peeing in your wetsuit.  I was unable.  Though chilly, it was an amazing day.  Graceful, gorgeous animals that are gently curious.  What's not to love!

We visited with TJ and Brianna today and spent very pleasant hours outside in a perfect fall day.  After the humidity and heat of Savannah, the crisp air smelling of leaves was a welcome change.

Dinner with Kevin and Isis ended our near perfect day back in RI.
