Pre-Thanksgiving Preparations

Today was spent preparing for our annual Pre-Thanksgiving dinner.  Since I always volunteered to work at the hospital on Thanksgiving Day (and thus cover my holiday commitment for the year), I began the tradition of having dinner the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  It worked out so well, with everyone attending, I continued the practice.

Here we are on this day in 2022 at our Pre-Thanksgiving dinner.

                                    Me and Karen                                                Paul

                                                Scott, Rebecca, TJ and Brianna

Nick and Linda                                                Layla and Alan

                                                Lucille, Don and Kim

                                                                Mom and Lucille

                                                    Alan, Peter and Maddy
(Don't ask, I do not remember!)

                                                        Dan and Kevin

                                                Rebecca and Kim

This year I am hosting in Lincoln.  I have borrowed tables and chairs and will borrow the grill from the neighbors (thank you Don and Kim).  Cooking the turkey on the grill frees up the oven for all our other side dishes.  Super easy!
I have unpacked all the Christmas decorations and memorabilia and "decorated" so family can choose pieces that are meaningful.
My favorites:
                                                Antique magnets - adorable!

Beads meant for the tree but really change the look of the kitchen lights!
