Rangeley, Maine

The air is crisp and cold.  There is always a sense of peace and stillness in Rangeley.  After taking care of business this morning we took a ride to the end of Mooselookmeguntic Lake.  There were few cars in town and even fewer on the road.  Worth the ride though.  Always beautiful even though it is "brown" season.

After our quiet time in the afternoon we decided to take a walk.  But first Megan asked for pinecones.  Where are they all?  Circling the yard we found a few but nothing to drag back to RI.  And then we hit the jackpot!  The chipmunks have piled them up in the very far backyard.  Strange.

You can actually see the holes to their den.  I guess they do not want to travel far once the real cold weather arrives.

And then we started our walk (with our orange hats).

We managed less than 1/4 mile before the rain started.
