Dock Happy

We are super happy to finally be in the water and on the dock!  The sun was barely up when they arrived with the lift.  They quickly reinstalled the muffler and we were moving!

The engines were a little cranky due to the temperature being 36', but they started.  It was windy and the current was headed out to sea, but we were thrilled to be on the boat.  Paul did a great job and we docked without incident.  Like riding a bike.

We only had to motor around the corner but it has whetted our appetites for further traveling.  We are tied to the dock and trying to stay warm.  Low temp tonight is predicted to be 32'.  After only a couple hours of being in the cold, we headed to the store for a heater.

Of course I also found more blankets for $5!

The heater works great and we are down to two layers of clothing.  Now if only I can figure out how to warm the toilet seat.

The fiberglass team came in and began the repair to our "hole".  They will be back tomorrow to hopefully complete the job.  We finally provisioned and I was able to cook our dinner!   Burgers and brussels sprouts - simple but yummy!  Our captain will arrive Wednesday night for departure Thursday morning.

The silence here is awesome.  I believe there is only one other couple staying on their boat.  Everyone else has apparently headed for warmer quarters.  The boat is rocking gently, no boat traffic to cause big swells.  The creaking of the fenders against the dock is comforting and oddly I had missed it without knowing.

And the sunset is so much prettier on the water.

And today is National Lisa Day.
