National Mutt Day

Today is National Mutt Day.  We have been blessed with many lovely mutts, some more mutt than others.

Buddy, our first, we found at the animal shelter after returning from our honeymoon.  A world class jumper, he jumped the fence and took off as soon as we released him into the fenced in yard.  Quiet, never barked and loved to sleep under Megan's crib.

Cheyenne was great at hide and seek (always under the bed) and a great running partner.  Good at catching mice and shedding.  Quiet until Megan taught her to "speak".

Gypsy and Fenway became the odd couple.  Gypsy, the sweetest dog ever, only wanted to be on your lap, the front seat of the car (preferably truck), watching the traffic or in front of the wood stove.  Fenway prefers being alone now or curled up near Paul.

Annie who thankfully has learned how to be neater and find a different outlet for her mischievousness.

And Maddie who loves to be loved and still forgets her manners.  Abandoned in Georgia, she made her way to Kevin.
Happy Mutt Day to all!

A beautiful, chilly morning.  There was plenty of room at the dock for us.

The lift showed up at 11am as scheduled.

The only problem - the rudders were still not fixed properly.  The steering was difficult and after attempting to manipulate with and without the automatic pilot, the problem continued.  So they were removed and readjusted and cleaned again.

Paul stayed behind to observe and surreptitiously ensure the job was completed correctly.  Also the new scratches to the hull from a golf cart sneaking under the boat (and not fitting!) had to be buffed out.  Ugh!
I went to the beach for an extended walk in the brisk ocean breezes.

We are back at our favorite hotel for the night.  We had a great dinner and are now relaxing.  The plan is for a 730-8am splash tomorrow.  No fingers crossed!
