Welcome Lenora!
We are super excited that Lenora has joined us and cannot wait to meet her! Congratulations Nick and Linda! Too cute! (She looks like she has a great attitude already - just saying!) You go girl!
We have had an awesome day on the water. Although cold (high 51, low 28), we dressed in layers and sailed 58 miles.
Paul concentrating on steering the boat while the jib was raised.Yes we sailed! For 8 hours. We learned a lot about tacking, trimming and passing other sailboats (yes we were moving that fast).
We saw plenty of dolphins, pelicans, seagulls and a pair of bald eagles. No pictures though because A - it was too cold to take my hands out from my gloves and B- I was responsible for watching the jib and keeping it in position.
We anchored a little earlier than anticipated and further north than desired, but it also meant we could warm up inside the boat. A beautiful spot called Wally's Leg where we are alone (shocker no one else out in this cold).
I "parked" the boat for the first time while Paul dropped the anchor. Reversing roles was outside our box but encouraged by Ximena. We both learned something new and did just fine.
Our sunset was beautiful but witnessed from the warmth of the cabin.
We have taught Ximena how to play Yahtzee and she is now addicted (and wins often). And we play "crazy Parcheesi". Apparently in Columbia Parcheesi has a different set of rules and our version is "crazy".
I am hoping (still) that as we head south, the weather will get warmer. Please?
