Blowing Rocks Preserve

We took the afternoon off and went to the beach! Blowing Rocks Preserve was the perfect place to spend a few hours.  Despite the wind with gusts up to 20 mph, it proved to be the perfect anecdote to working hard the last few days

Super cool limestone rocks with sea caves,  It was pretty amazing to watch the tide strike and the birds frolic.  So peaceful on a beach with very few people.

We also explored the old road that ran along the beach.  It has been "saved" with replanting and fencing.

And we learned something new!  There are hundreds of spots around the US and world where you can take a photo in the same spot as others and it becomes part of a log.  Chronolog.io is the website and our photo at Blowing Rocks has been added.  It was interesting to see other spots including one in Barrington, RI.  Check it out!

We did have a successful day.  The new line was run without incident.

The blue is the old and the red is the new.  I sewed them together in order to run them through the mast.

Paul pulled from the distant end until the red line came through.

The insertion site on the mast.  I had my fingers

crossed no hang ups would occur until red came out the final end!

We have reserved a slip in Freeport Bahamas for March and April.  We stopped by Mack Sails and (fingers crossed) our sail should be complete by the 17th.  We have been in contact with a marina here in Florida for the upcoming hurricane season.  It may seem early to plan but we want a spot south of Georgia and secured so we can be home in plenty of time for the wedding!

The plan - follow up with our insurance for hurricane season.  Locate the new battery for our PLB (personal locator beacon).  It came down with us but is hiding somewhere.  We will find it - the boat isn't that big!  Continue with the odd repairs.
