County Line Canal

A spectacular sunset after a very productive day.  On the way back to our Air BNB we stopped at a local fishing spot, County Line Canal.

The windlass is fixed.  We no longer have to pull the 55 lb anchor plus chain (another 50 lbs?) by hand.  Doable but not really pleasant.  And I am not able to rinse the chain if I am pulling.  That means stinky goo in the anchor locker.

The starboard head (toilet) leak is no longer.

The dinghy engine received a Barnacle Buster cleansing.  The motor we purchased new last January occasionally stalls.  There is no one willing to do the warranty work and no one available in the near future to even either come assess or pick up the motor.  So, Paul has been researching and trying various possibilities.

We have also located what we believe to be "the spot" in the Bahamas.  Fingers crossed all the pieces fall into place including  - mainsail sewn and flying, weather good with south, southeast winds.  Calm seas.  And an engine that no longer smokes when running!

The plan - run our new lines tomorrow (ropes on the sails).  Check in with the sail repair shop.  Continue with small, odd repair jobs.  Continue to research anchorages, points of interest and beaches in the Bahamas.
