Loxahatchee Slough

With one eye open I headed out to the car this morning.  What a sunrise!  The promise of a beautiful day was fulfilled!  Sunny, 70s and filled with family and new adventures - perfect!

After an uninspired mass in a beautiful church we headed south to brunch with Marc.  Yummy chorizo omelet at his favorite Latin American restaurant.  Fun and relaxed - perfect.

With nowhere to be we decided to lollygag back to the air BNB via back roads.  We wound up stopping at Loxahatchee Slough to stretch our legs (and utilize the facilities).  Slough - an inlet or natural channel that is sporadically filled with water.  An unexpected treasure found on the spur of the moment.

Filled with tons of wildlife yet there were no alligators to be found.  Oh well.

The plan - head to the boat in the morning after checking out.  Grab clothes and food and head to Daytona.  Our "jobs" on the boat are complete and now we wait.  For pistons (yet to be found) and our sail (Thursday?).  So we will hang out in Daytona (Thanks Don and Kim!) and enjoy the Florida sunshine!
