Egret Way Canal
Just being on the boat has been so relaxing. I slept like a baby and woke to the sounds of a boat sliding by and birds headed north. A lot of birds. Hundreds. According to Dave (our host), the birds do this every morning but he never sees them return. Dave and Carol have been super understanding and supportive while we hang out on their dock. Our original departure date of January 8 has come and gone and we have now altered it again for April. But I am good with it. We hung out with our hosts and watched the sun start to set. Sharing funny stories and connecting is always good.
Our morning walk took us in a different direction and more mailboxes. In a little more than a mile there were tons of variations. I would love the job of designing new posts. Why all sea creatures? I would do safari animals, aliens and even vegetables!
The names of the roads are all sea related also. Egret, Albatross, Seagull and Seahawk.
Paul completed reattaching the 2 reefs in the mainsail while I supported him from my bean bag chair. Again I fell asleep while reading. A little plumbing. A little cleaning. A lot of planning. We are going to take the opportunity of our delayed departure and explore different parts of Florida. Lots to look forward to in the near future!
