Jungle Island, Miami, Florida

Here's to enjoying my best life while I wait patiently (mostly) for Quiet Time repairs to be completed.  Today Paul and I headed to Miami to meet up with Scott and Rebecca.  After cruising for a week they had a few hours between disembarkation from the ship and boarding on the plane.  Luckily we are close and could pop down there.

Jungle Island, an "eco-adventure park", located close to the cruise port, was very well done.  Dozens of brightly crafted animals including dragons, too many varieties of birds to count, monkeys, wallabies and so much more.  The Macaws were my favorite.  Situated close to the walkways they seemed unconcerned with our presence.

Until this one... who started to misbehave and lunge at Rebecca!
                                            He exudes attitude!

Multiple bright creatures on well designed paths that reminded us of Candyland.

Rebecca and Scott with a life size technicolor giraffe.

With lights strung from every available point, it must
                                                                look spectacular at night.

There were multiple playgrounds for the little kids, a tree top adventure course for the older ones and even a small water park for the hotter days.

Not too bad looking for 120+ years old!

We have been to many zoos and seen hundreds of flamingos.  We have also seen these birds in the wild in the Grand Caymans.  All of our previous encounters were quiet and serene.  I have no idea why this flock was so verbal.  Kind of funny!

And then rounding a curve in the path we heard hooting and hollering.  What a crazy surprise!

Miami at 730am in March is way different then weekends during the boat show.  We had few other cars on the road with us.

It really is pretty with few people and few cars. (Still wouldn't live there!)

Tonight we are back on the boat and enjoying the peace and quiet.
