New Friends

After a few small tasks this morning and a walk to ACE, we headed out to estate/yard sales.  We met quite a few people, mostly older, selling a wide array of stuff (mostly Christmas decorations).  It is fun to look around but I wind up feeling bad when nothing they have is something I need or want.  And most people down here are older with old stuff.  Our "Boston" accent amused a few and made for great conversation!

The friendliest people we met tried to sell us a cat, "Sam, a neighborhood cat with no true home.  (We didn't purchase her)  She made friends with their 6 month old puppy, Sophie.  Both were super friendly.

How cute is Sophie?  And she never uttered a sound!
Her I may have been tempted to buy as a companion for Fenway!

"Sam", almost as big as Sophie, also never uttered a sound.

And then we found Washington Street Crossing in New Smyrna.  What a great find with lots that made us chuckle and reminisce.
Who doesn't need dancing farm animals?

A pelican catch all?  Sad there is no room on the boat.

Paul was tempted to add these to the yard in Daytona.
(Your welcome Don for talking him out of it!)

A blue bus!  I learned how to drive on a Volkswagen bus!

I don't think is politically correct.                    I don't even know what this is!

Bull rides on Daytona Beach?  Who knew!

How much fun they must have had with so many cars!
Sad most of the beach has shrunk and barely room for
                                     one lane of traffic now.

This was half of the indoor space.  There were
4 trailers and 2 large tents outside chock full of stuff.

Strange old people caricatures.                All clowns are strange.

Even a T Rex skull wearing a beanie.

A very unappetizing tray for snacks/appetizers?

The infamous swamp man from Crystal River!
(A story for another day.)(A really, really good story!)

On the return trip we stopped to stretch our legs at Spruce Creek Preserve.  It was such a beautiful day especially with the sun shining on the water.

Florida really does have lots of preserves, parks, trails, etc.  Most are clean, well kept and have clean bathrooms.  Some even have water fountains.  There really is no excuse not to be enjoying nature and moving.
