Coral Beach, Freeport, Grand Bahama
After Paul spent the morning straightening out our insurance (we "stay" on the boat and are not live aboards) we jumped on the free shuttle to Coral Beach. We were ready for some sand and turquoise waters.
The jetty at the far western end is the jetty we motoredthrough to arrive at the marina.
We wound up walking just over 5 miles and did not reach the most eastern end of the beach. Though our shuttle was full and there are at least 2 hotels, we bumped into few people. So many miles of pristine white sandy beach with warm shallow, beautifully clear water! After 3 hours of walking, swimming and sitting in the sand, we were ready for a break from the sun. Thankfully, one of the hotels had a bar on the beach.
Conch fritters and local beer made for a perfect beach snack.
A quick shower and nap and we joined Monday Madness at the marina. (We managed to be only a little late!) Paul was picked to join the men dancing contest and did a fine job but there was no beating Jesus and his insane skills on the dance floor. Jacuzzi and a swim and we are calling it a day.
At some point we will start working on our to do list for the boat once our social schedule dwindles. We have waited so long to be here and be a part of everything that neither of us are inclined to "work".
