A Productive Rainy Day

A cloudy, very humid day with intermittent showers.  A day meant to be spent doing those chores that are painful when the sun is shining and the water is calling.

1.  Grocery shopping.  Only needed a few fresh veggies but went anyway.  This weeks' aggressive timeshare seller could be totally ignored since I still cannot hear properly.  She went away easily.  We also applied for a discount card since Solomon's Grocery is the only grocer on the islands.  At these high prices, every savings helps.

2.  Banana Bread.  Janet gave me 4 very green bananas when they left more than a week ago.  We have been letting them sit under the isinglass ripening with little effect.  A few minutes in the microwave and ripe!  (Also squishy)  Yummy sourdough banana bread!

3. Vacuum.  Not a horrible job with my new Dust Buster.  Also not horrible because it takes like 15 minutes and done.  Sand finds it way onto the boat so easily!

4.  Screen fix.  One of the salon hatches had a screen that would not stay put without a hair elastic.  Not ideal since it had to be taken off every time we wanted to open or close the hatch.  Paul took care of that today.

5.  Medicine cabinet.  Since I was searching for Sudafed, I cleaned and purged the cabinet.  More efficient but alas no Sudafed.

6.  Freezer inventory.  How did I forget we had bacon?  From now on - bacon with every meal!  (Just kidding - but did make bacon bits for my fresh salads!)

In between rain showers we managed a couple miles walking the marina.  The flowers and trees are finally starting to bloom!

We played cribbage in the "game room" and then pool.   Neither one of us play regularly but we are slowly improving.  I prefer to play without an audience.  No worries about that - everyone has found someplace else to hang.

And the sun showed up briefly before setting.
