Feelings
The first storm with lots of thunder and lightning since we have arrived and it lasted through the night and early morning. (Did I mention lightning no longer scares me!) The first thing this morning we checked for leaks. NONE! Yee-haw! After so many leaks last year and Paul having to dismantle cabinets and floors, we cannot be happier! The dinghy was full of water but was easily drained by pulling the drain plug.
The rain stopped mid morning and we managed to sneak in the jacuzzi before other guests awakened. The water is cooler (much more comfortable) in the morning since they turn it off overnight.
Paul ran into Fred, Scuba shop owner, and managed to borrow a feeler gauge. Sounds funny but it did the trick. He adjusted the valves, changed a gasket and ran the port engine. It had been running rich and hopefully this will cure that problem.
Not what I thought a feeler gauge would look like!Meanwhile because the rain started again and I wanted to walk, I visited the marina gym. I managed 45 minutes on the bicycle but with no AC it was a bit brutal. On my walk back people just assumed I had managed to get soaked with rain. Ha!
Then the beginning of our to do list. Most important - a last trip to Banana Beach on Thursday. An inventory of foods left shows we are good and will not be hungry! And the variety is still okay - no multiple meals of tuna or peanut butter.
By early afternoon the sun was back and we positioned ourselves by the pool. Cribbage, reading and short naps before I finally beat Paul at pool. (Of course it was because he pocketed the 8 ball - but I will take the win!)
Grilled ribs and Red Sox on the radio - perfect.
