Scuba - Day 4

Our dive time today was scheduled for 230pm.  Which meant I had all day to think.  I distracted myself with laundry, reading, solitaire and thinning out the hundreds of photos I have downloaded from my camera, phone and Gopro to my laptop.  I wound up taking Sudafed every 4-5 hours and only my right ear had a bit of fluid pressure left (I was able to clear it easily), so I was good to go.

                                        Out through the canal.

Into that crazy beautiful, indescribable blue.

Seas were 1-2 feet which, in the smaller dive boat felt way bigger.  Jose's wreck is a tugboat that sank May 4, 2024 after apparently trying to tow a barge to Dominican Republic despite a small craft advisory.  About 40 feet down?

I had a hard time taking that giant leap off the boat again.  With all my gear on and breathing through the mouthpiece, it took me a few minutes to gather my thoughts, calm them and jump.  Once my head was under water, all was good.  I took my time heading down the line to the dive site, making sure my ears were equalizing frequently.
Justin (a guide) and Andre (another diver) went ahead of us to the site.
Paul waited patiently for me to adjust and descend slowly.

                                                                          Me

And then we let go!  There is definitely a freedom to
swimming that deep where the current does not have as much of an effect.
                                                                Paul

Crazy amounts of fish, growth on the tug and the clarity of the water were all amazing.  It did not seem so deep when looking at the tug from above.

Chesla had my GoPro and took today's pictures since I was busy trying to focus on breathing, staying off the bottom and staying calm.  Next dive - I think I will be able to manage picture taking.

Not sure why there is a stool positioned near the tug.  Or is it
                                    the helm seat?

I am so glad we completed this dive!  So glad I stepped out of my box (and off the boat)!  It is an incredible feeling conquering a fear and experiencing a new world.
