Fun Day

We woke early and made the decision to bicycle to breakfast.  I was feeling good and it wasn't too hot yet - low 80s.  So we biked the 7+ miles to Pat's in Ormond and enjoyed breakfast with Lorelei and Mori. (I was having so much fun I rode right by the restaurant and kept heading south.) Two hours later it was no longer in the low 80s.  But there was a good breeze keeping us "cool" (though we were riding directly into it!)  More than 10 weeks since we last rode, I am feeling it!

The bigger egret has been named Mooch by the staff and he is a bully!

A lazy afternoon followed our draining ride back.  Then onto the free concert at the Bandshell.  A tribute to Rod Stewart preceded by the honoring of area veterans.  The area was packed with people - all different kinds.  Good music, great people watching and we brought our own drinks and snacks - perfect night.
They even had a flyby to honor the vets.

Fireworks from the beach were beautiful.  Kudos to Daytona Beach for a great start to the Star Spangled Summer.   We might be back before we head north!
