Lightner Museum/Night Life
We started our day early. First, the heat which we were trying to avoid and then there are the people. St Augustine is very popular and we are learning that the sidewalks get very crowded by late morning. We headed to the Lightner Museum as they opened. A former hotel turned spa turned museum, a very worthwhile stop with tons of interesting facts and architecture.
The courtyardThe spaces are now used to house different collections and all are well done, spacious, cohesive and engrossing.
The first bicycle! Wooden with a "saddle".

The opulence is insane...
The hotel was across the road (now Flagler College).
By noon we were back on the boat trying to stay cool and avoiding the crowds. We decided to attend Mass tonight at The Basilica of St Augustin.
Bangers and mashed.
Salad Brussels sprouts
More meandering through the streets.
(Okay there were other "bodies" sitting on this porch that I photographed. However, they were real people that just happened to be a bit scary looking!)
And then we were invited to a concert! Free! The music was awesome. The people were excited and danced and sang. The band played a great variety from Van Morrison to Chris Stapleton to Bob Seger. The absolute best free concert this season!!!!
We are blessed to be here in St Augustine and finding ourselves truly enjoying the end of our season in ways we never could have imagined. Thank you Eduardo for inviting us!
