Manteo, North Carolina

After a bit more than 10 hours we have arrived in Manteo (silent t) in the Outer Banks, North Carolina.  Super cute, small town on the Albemarle Sound on Roanoke Island.  Paul found us a quaint room only minutes from our morning destination.

Our room is top floor where the two windows look out onto the mainstreet.

Very clean, very cute.  Door knobs are a bit close to the floor but it works for us!

A great meal at a local seafood restaurant right on the water - perfect!
                                                    Beer and Marina Margarita

                                                        Fish tacos with tuna

                                                            Seafood combo

Great service and yummy food - we couldn't have had a better ending to a very long day.

After 8 hours on 95 North, we spent the remaining hours on the backroads of North Carolina.  Farms and construction and a feeling we had stepped back in time.

Guardrails lined the roads to protect drivers from the water surrounding the main roads.  There were also signs warning of "Endangered red Wolf crossings".  Nope, we did not see any.

The plan - be at the marina at 8am to pick up our pallet of engine and parts, then head back to Daytona.
