The Most

As we fly back to Rhode Island today, I am excited but somehow feeling surreal.  How could the season be over?  It feels like it just began and yet, we have accomplished amazing things.  Here is my most list for 2025:

Silliest – me singing karaoke vs Paul and myself playing pool

Saddest – seeing all the damage from hurricane Dorian and then the brush fires on the east end of Grand Bahama

Scariest – this is a toss-up between arriving in the West End, Grand Bahamas marina in the dark with no dock hands OR scuba diving

The very narrow canal we had to traverse at 11pm.

Most laughs – John, Bonnie and Constance at the Bonfire; I never thought I would be doing the limbo or musical chairs that did not involve a child’s birthday

Most joyous – the perfect sailing day from West End to Ocean Reef marina

Calmest – paddleboarding in the canal

Gratitude – that we have seen and explored so many new places, met so many new and wonderful people, both here in Florida and in the Bahamas

Excitement – that we are headed home to so many new and crazy changes!

Surprise – that diving 60 feet in the Bahamas the surface is still visible

Disappointment – seeing only one turtle while snorkeling at Paradise Cove

Awkward – scuba diving lessons in the marina pool with multiple guests watching

Biggest relief – that the engines held up crossing the Gulf Stream since there was no wind.

Easiest – enjoying our morning coffee in the marina jacuzzi

Most annoying – no foosball ball at Ocean Reef!

Most beautiful – the crazy blue of the ocean in the Gulf Stream

Most nutty – Paul trying to touch the fish while scuba diving

Most difficult – maintaining a calm attitude in presence of idiocy

Best service – Enterprise Car Rental – always finding us the car/truck we needed/wanted to free miles and free rental days – priceless

Disgusting – BBQ fish with the eyeball staring up from the plate

Favorite beach – Banana Bay in Grand Bahamas

Captivating sunset – Hole in the Wall, Florida

We have covered another 864 miles on Quiet Time with the sails raised for many of them.  We have become expert at picking up mooring balls and securing our lines with ease.  We have figured out how to check in to another country and back into the US.  We have attended a Coconut Festival, a bonfire on the beach and concerts at a bandshell.  We have walked countless miles on many beaches, sidewalks and even some brick roads.  We have visited numerous museums and historic sites.  We have tried new foods and new customs.  We have laughed, cried and given thanks frequently.  We are very blessed living our best life!
