Worms

Paul and I make a plan almost every morning knowing that things go awry and flexibility is key.  The plan today was to complete the removal of the "old" garden and continue work on the chicken coop extension.  I was able to finish the garden easily since the sun was hidden behind clouds - no breaks needed!

Then the phone rang.  Please pick up Brianna early.  Gladly.  I threw a clean shirt over my sweaty, dirty shirt but my feet/shoes couldn't be helped.  I work with flip flops so my feet and shoes were covered in mud.  I left thinking who would notice.  Brianna noticed and asked quite loudly, "What's wrong with your feet?"  Gotta love her!

After a steamy shower and decreased cough, she joined us in the yard.  Watching Paul dig the trench for the new coop was way interesting!  (She forgot she was sick!)

She "saved" all the worms that Grandpa Paul was trying to kill.  She rehomed them to another part of the yard except for the one she fed to the chickens.  Each received a name and was carefully placed in a box with dirt.
She had the best seat in the house!

The "old" garden is gone and hopefully I landscaped good enough for easy mowing.

The new garden Scott built earlier in the year is thriving!  (And pretty to look at!)

After Brianna visited with Kevin, Isis and Maddie while Paul and I showered we returned to Megan's to cook dinner.  While I cooked salmon on the grill, Brianna made clover soup with a hint of worm.  Again - gotta love her!
