Coos Canyon
This morning we headed back to Rangeley. On the way we stopped at Coos Canyon in Byron, Maine along the Swift River. We were not alone. Having driven along Route 9 with very little traffic, I was definitely surprised to find so many people here. In fact we had a bit of trouble finding parking!
The water - green and cold. The striated rocks - stunning. The kids - jumping from insane heights. Fenway - nervous with all the people and other dogs around. Us - it felt good to get out of the car and walk.
There is actually a story about Paul Bunyan having stopped here and panned for gold. He stopped at several towns along the River Valley and decided Coos Canyon was a place to camp with Blue.
I want to thank Kevin and his friends (Scott too) for leaving the house in great condition. After a bachelor party weekend, I was not sure what I was going to find. Thank you! Hope you had a great weekend!
