Til Next Time

Sitting in the car in the driveway while waiting for Paul to finish closing the house, I noticed a very large spider web on the back deck.  The angle of the rising sun struck the strands perfectly and I could make out every intricacy.

Yet looking at the same area from the opposite direction - nothing can be seen.  Nature at its best!

Closing the house in the summer is way easier than the colder weather.  (No need to drain pipes that may freeze.)  The worst part is having to spray for bugs.  Being a log cabin, the ants will take over in a minute.  So, Paul sprays the outside and inside perimeter during the warmer months to prevent damage from these pests.

Another hazy and smoky start to the day.

An easy ride home with little traffic (construction everywhere!).  Our first stop was dropping Fenway off at Megan's.  While Paul used their printer, I did a quick yard and pool check.  Returning inside Annie was barking incessantly and I could not find Fenway.  Ugh!  In the way past he was a runner and would sprint to other neighborhoods or after bunnies.  I called and called and no response.  Typically he would bark to let me know where he was.  Paul had no idea so I started walking.  I didn't have to go far.

He had snuck out of the house and was waiting patiently for us to get back in the car and take him with us.  Silly dog.  I tried to tell him we would be sleeping at Megan's starting Friday again.  He was still sad.  (If Brianna or TJ had been there it would have been okay.)

He is super funny because yesterday after our escapade to the two lakes, he slept from 7pm to 530am without moving.  In fact I actually checked to make sure he was still breathing and that we hadn't actually killed him.

He was in the car along with the first bags to make sure we did not leave him behind.  He watched us carefully every time we exited for fuel or bathroom breaks.  By now he should know - we always come back!
