Rangeley Town Dock

We managed to cut a few more trees down, lug the branches to the "to be chipped" pile and the logs to the path before the chainsaw ran out of gas.  This was our "sign" - quit for the day.

We (and by we I mean Paul), has been going back and forth with Breanna all week making changes and discussing options for the garage.  Our first "additional cost" estimate - almost $60,000!!!  Are you kidding?!?  Additional!!!  Anyway, we quickly adjusted our plans and removed all the extraneous and frivolous (in our opinion) features.  We have now signed a contract that has our additional costs under $2000.  (They "threw" in a few of the frivolous features like the eave closures to keep out the critters.) Hah!  Good luck keeping the mice out!

We visited town briefly and walked to the town dock.  Such a gorgeous day!

We were entertained by people pulling their boat out (mostly successful) and watching the seaplane land.  If I had a blanket, I could have napped right there!  Nearly silent, slight breeze, warm sun, crisp air - bliss.  The only people - retired with cameras!

The wood stove is burning again tonight although it should be a bit warmer.  Last night 39 degrees!  Tonight's low - 46.

The plan - wait as patiently as we can for the detailed garage plans and the fabrication.  Estimate 4-6 weeks.  Fingers crossed for the end of October!
