Treehouse Work

After sleeping almost 10 hours (10!) Paul and I dawdled away our morning.  First the hunt was on for the Waterway Guide for the Keys.  Our sailing goal this year - sail down the coast and explore the keys and maybe the Gulf.  Maybe.  I am excited to start researching anchorages and places to explore this season!

Then a leisurely breakfast at Eggs Up (Thank you Nick and Linda for the gift certificate!).

And then we arrived at Megan's to install the walls on the treehouse.  The frame was completed yesterday.

Problem number 1 - the stain picked out was interior only.  A "quick" trip to ACE and mahogany it is!  Love the color on the boards!

We were still at it when TJ arrived home after work.  His helping allowed me to finish cutting the lawn (started yesterday but the sun set soooo early!)

Problem 2 - the walls were not quite dry since the sun was already low in the sky.  A little messy nailing in place.

Walls are painted and mostly installed.  The final smaller pieces are drying on the lawn and can be installed later.
Problem 3 - the three of us all agreed on the triangle for the back wall and all of us were wrong!  Ugh.  A recut was necessary.

The day flew by and we have accomplished what we set out to do.   And it was super nice to come home to a hot, cooked, yummy teriyaki chicken and rice.  Thank you Isis!  So much appreciated!

The plan - head to Maine in the morning!
